The Cliffs of Kauai
The Na Pali Coast is Kauai's crown jewel — 17 miles of fluted green sea cliffs rising 4,000 feet directly from the Pacific Ocean, dotted with hidden sea caves, cascading waterfalls, and white-sand beaches accessible only by boat or a grueling 11-mile trail. There is no road along the Na Pali Coast, and no development of any kind. It is one of the last truly wild coastlines in the United States. Seeing it from the water — looking up at those ancient cliffs as spinner dolphins play alongside your boat — is one of the most profound experiences available to a traveler anywhere in the world.
The quintessential Kauai experience — a morning catamaran cruise along the Na Pali Coast, sailing beneath 4,000-foot sea cliffs, entering sea caves, and snorkeling at pristine sites accessible only by boat. Spinner dolphins frequently escort the vessel, and humpback whales are visible December through April. Breakfast and lunch included.
Watch the Na Pali cliffs glow gold and crimson as the sun sets over the Pacific on this premium evening cruise. A gourmet dinner buffet and open bar are served as you sail along the coast, with a marine naturalist narrating the geology and history of the cliffs. One of the most romantic experiences in all of Hawaii.
Get closer to the Na Pali Coast than any large boat can on a rigid inflatable raft (RHIB). The smaller vessel can enter sea caves, navigate narrow passages, and pull right up to the base of the cliffs. Snorkeling at remote sites is included. Not recommended for guests with back problems or pregnant women.
Your own private vessel, your own captain, your own Na Pali experience. Choose a catamaran, a raft, or a motor yacht. Snorkeling, fishing, and dolphin watching can all be combined. Perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries, family groups, and photography enthusiasts who want unlimited time with the cliffs.

When is the best time to do a Na Pali Coast tour?
May through September is the prime season for Na Pali Coast boat tours. During winter (October–April), large swells on the North Shore make the coast inaccessible by boat. Some operators run South Shore tours year-round that include partial Na Pali views.
What is the difference between a catamaran and a raft tour?
Catamarans are larger, more stable, and more comfortable — ideal for families, those prone to seasickness, and guests who want a relaxed experience. Rafts are smaller, faster, and more adventurous — they can enter sea caves and get closer to the cliffs, but the ride is rougher.
Will I see dolphins?
Spinner dolphins are frequently spotted on Na Pali Coast tours, especially in the morning. They often ride the bow wave of the boat. Sightings are very common but cannot be guaranteed as they are wild animals.
Is the Na Pali Coast tour suitable for children?
Catamaran tours are suitable for children 5 and up. Raft tours are generally recommended for children 7 and up due to the rougher ride. Life jackets are provided for all ages.
What should I bring?
Wear your swimsuit under light clothing. Bring reef-safe sunscreen (required), a towel, sunglasses, and a light jacket for the morning. Motion sickness medication is recommended if you're prone to seasickness — the channel crossing can be choppy.
Can I see the Na Pali Coast from land?
Yes — the Kalalau Trail offers dramatic views of the Na Pali Coast from above, and the Kalalau Lookout at Kokee State Park provides aerial views. But seeing the cliffs from the water, looking up at 4,000 feet of green rock rising from the ocean, is a completely different and unforgettable experience.
